  3.     HOSPITALIZED. Cab Calloway, 81, singer and bandleader whose
  4. hipsterish theme hi-de-ho from Minnie the Moocher became an anthem
  5. of Harlem's jazz age; in critical condition; in White Plains, N.Y.
  6. Two weeks ago, Calloway collapsed while on tour in Japan. For the
  7. first time in his 60-year career, the entertainer had to miss a
  8. performance. Wrote Calloway in his autobiography: "Women, horses,
  9. cars, clothes. I did it all. And do you know what that's called,
  10. ladies and gentlemen? It's called living."
